Super Mario Spikers is a cancelled Mario game for the Wii.
Plot and goals
Though no plot has been told nor goal, it seems like it is a volleyball and wrestling game, so my guess is that you had to win in order to pass to the next ring/course.
Why is was cancelled
- Nintendo considered the game to be too violent for a Mario title
- At the same time the company was working on the Wii adaptation of Punch Out!!, which slowed down development.
Result
The game was cancelled and we got another Mario sports game for it, Mario Strikers Charged.
