SimCity is a city simulation game released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991. It was also announced to release for the Nintendo Entertainment System, but this version of the game was never released.
Gameplay is similar to the SNES version of the game, which in it self was based off the PC version of the game.
In SimCity, players build a city. The game doesn't have a specific goal, so the player can't win or lose. The player can zone areas as residential, commercial, or industrial, add buildings, adjust the tax rate, construct power lines, and build roads, among other things.
Why Was It Cancelled?Edit
Due to the game also releasing on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the publishers of the game may have decided that it would not be a good idea to also release it on the original NES console. The SNES version of SimCity was released in August 1991, around the time of the SNES launch.
The game was released on the SNES console in August 1991.
The SimCity ROM file was shown off publicly for the first time at MAGFest 2018.
